is alive!
All:
//Christ is alive!//
There is no one who will ever be like him.

Call to Worship
One: The
grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
All: And also with you!
One: If any
one is in Christ there is a new creation,
old things have passed away, the new has
arrived!
All: Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, you loving
people,
One: From
now on, we don’t look at people as hopeless humans,
Christ has changed all that.
All: Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, you loving
people,
Shout for joy, all you
who are sincere in heart.
One: Let us
worship God.

Song
One, then all: When anyone is in Christ,
there is a new creation:
the old is dead and
gone.
Behold, the new has
come.
One: Old evasions end,
and no one hides, or
runs away;
the chain of blame is
broken,
and men and women meet
as friends.
All: When anyone is in Christ,
there is a new creation:
the old is dead and
gone.
Behold, the new has
come.
One: Ancient curses fade:
the ring of power is
melted down,
the sword becomes a
plowshare,
and men are freed to
laugh and love.
All: When anyone is in Christ,
there is a new creation:
the old is dead and
gone.
Behold, the new has
come.
One: Old subjections fall:
the captives break the
prison door;
the young and old see
visions,
and women preach and
prophesy.
All: When anyone is in Christ,
there is a new creation:
the old is dead and
gone.
Behold, the new has
come.
One: Dominations die:
The prince is kneeling
at our feet,
the edge is at the
center,
and little children lead
us all.
All: When anyone is in Christ,
there is a new creation:
the old is dead and
gone.
Behold, the new has
come.
Prayer of Confession
NOT ON PPT
When we were dead in our sins, God made us alive
with Christ.
Through our baptism, we were buried with Christ,
so too are we raised with him by the power of God – so that we too may live a
new life.
One: Do you accept God’s call to resist evil,
injustice and oppression in whatever guise they present themselves?
All: We do.
One: Do you truly and earnestly recognize your
human limits and brokenness and desire to grow in grace?
All: We do.
One: Do you accept Jesus as the symbol of
unconditional grace, the source of your freedom to act – to act boldly – in
this world?
All: We do.
—Silent
reflection—
One: Merciful God, we pray that as we confront our
weakness and limitations, we will continually be confronted by your grace.
All: Strengthen us when we doubt;
challenge
us when we become too self-assured.
One: Let us struggle for justice and meaning and
love;
and be
filled and surrounded by your spirit.
All: And, O God, we pray especially that you will
at all times
remind us
that we are each others',
and that
all of us are yours.
Amen.
Please stand, all who are able.

Eternal lover of your wayward humankind,
we praise you for your ever-open door.
You open your arms to accept us
even before we turn to meet your welcome; you invite us to forgiveness even before our hearts are softened to repentance.
Hold before us the image of our humanity made new, that we may live in Jesus Christ, the model and the pioneer of your new creation. Amen.

Preparation Hymn
sung by the music team
Christ has changed the world's direction!
Christ can change the human heart:
agents of the new creation
mend the people torn apart;
so are we
charged to be
go-betweens for unity.
Peace will be our way of thinking:
common wealth and common state.
Gone the wounds, the words and weapons
that conspire to hurt and hate,
and no power
shall devour
earth or air where peace might flower.
Debts and doubts will be forgiven,
cancelled in the name of God,
olive trees again be planted
there where soldiers' boots have trod,
hunger fed,
terror fled,
justice shining in its stead.
Scripture Readings
1 Samuel 16:7
2 Corinthians 5:16-21
NOT ON PPT
But the Holy One said to Samuel, “Do not
look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected
him; for the Holy One does not see as mortals see; they look on the
outward appearance, but the Holy One looks on the heart.”
From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a
human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of
view, we know him no longer in that way.
So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has
passed away; see, everything has become new! All this is from God, who
reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of
reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to
himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message
of reconciliation to us. So we are
ambassadors for Christ, since God is making God’s appeal through us; we entreat
you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake God made him
to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of
God.
Reader: Hear
what the Spirit is saying to you today.

What have we as commendation,
sent to speak, as speak we must?
Love will be our global language,
hands an enemy can trust,
faith to faith,
race with race,
all shall find a meeting place.
Envoys of a High Commission,
gifts of hope we find to share,
Christ the Spirit reconciling,
Christ our internet of care.
Though we stall,
fail or fall,
shall we now refuse God's call?
Affirmation-Meditation
in words of Maya Angelou
Courage
is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't
practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue
erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.
We
may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.
I
believed that there was a God because I was told it by my grandmother and later
by other adults. But when I found that I knew not only that there was God but
that I was a child of God, when I understood that, when I comprehended that,
more than that, when I internalized that, ingested that, I became courageous.
Love
recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to
arrive at its destination full of hope.
Love
is that condition in the human spirit so profound that it allows me to survive,
and better than that, to thrive with passion, compassion, and style.
Laugh
as often as possible. You must. Because the world will offer you every reason
to weep. So as often as possible, you laugh. That, I think, is part of the
Great Love.
I
believe that each of us comes from the creator trailing wisps of glory.
Nothing
can dim the light which shines from within.
While
I know myself as a creation of God, I am also obligated to realize and remember
that everyone else and everything else are also God's creation.
Listen
to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.
There
is no place where God is not.
It's
a wonderful thing to know that there is something greater than I am, and that
is God itself.

Song
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
A new law, and a new promise, all creation is
reborn.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
1. Look on Calvary ’s
summit; on the rock there towers a cross;
Death that gives birth
to new living, a new people, a new light.
Christ has brought us
salvation, dying there and rising again.
Everything comes to new
birthing, all creation is reborn.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
A new law, and a new promise, all creation is
reborn.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
2. Christ’s own body is burdened by our sin,
enslavement, and pain.
Crushing all evil,
Christ brings us life’s abundance, life’s new joy.
Christ brings
reconciliation to all things and people with God.
Nature bursts into new
flowering, all creation is reborn.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
A new law, and a new promise, all creation is
reborn.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
3. Heaven and earth are embracing, and our souls
find pardon at last.
Now heaven’t gates are
reopened to the sinner, to us all.
This is Israel ’s journey;
now we live, salvation’s our song;
Christ’s resurrection
has freed us. There are new worlds to
explore.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!
A new law, and a new promise, all creation is
reborn.
Go forth, O people of God; go forth, O people of
God!

1. Ho, everyone that thirsts:
Come to the waters!
here is an end to
hunger:
Come to the feast!
and everyone who labors:
Come to the waters!
All you who have no
money:
Come to the feast!
For this is life:
the waters of the Jordan :
for this is life:
the waters of your
birth:
for this is life:
the waters that renew
you:
O come to the feast.
O come to the feast.
2. Let all who seek their God:
Come to the waters!
heed now the One who
calls you:
Come to the feast!
the everlasting stream:
Come to the waters!
drink deep the Cup that
saves you:
Come to the feast!
For this is life:
the floods that
overwhelm you:
for this is life:
the streams of death and
life:
for this is life:
the waters that sustain
you:
O come to the feast.
O come to the feast.
3. And all who are oppressed:
Come to the waters!
this is the feast of
justice:
Come to the feast!
and you, the last and
broken:
Come to the waters!
this is the feast of
healing:
Come to the feast!
For this is life:
to die and rise in
Jesus:
For this is life:
to share the life of
Christ:
For this is life:
the bread and wine of
justice:
O come to the feast.
O come to the feast!
