De colores + Sing of colors

Sing of colors, sing of colors that over the hills in profusion are springing;
Sing of colors of the birds that fly outside my window their canticles singing;
Sing of colors, in the rainbow’s bright colors God’s promise of hope we recall;
Sing of colors that make up the earth and give thanks to the God who created us all.
Sing of colors that make up the earth and give thanks to the God who created us all.

And when sin’s deadly shadow fell everywhere, Jesus your Word came in flesh to live with us. The world he made did not know him; his homeland refused him.

Now all who receive Christ have power to become children of God: born from above, they blow through the world with your Spirit, bearing witness for the truth of your Word. All who believe in Christ have left death for new life.

THIS COLUMN ON PPT

One:  It is truly right always and everywhere to praise you, Mother-Father God, Lover of all. Your wind swept the waters when our world began, and you spoke the Word  that was always your Word. Through that Word all things came to be, and the life of that Word lightened every life with the light darkness could not swallow.

But he fulfilled your purpose, and loved us to the end. On the cross he handed over the Spirit of life, flowing forever like water from a living spring.

All who hear Christ’s voice follow him, as sheep follow their own shepherd, on the true and living way that leads to God. All who love, as Christ loved, live like branches of a vine, drawing life from the one who laid down his life for his friends.

[BLANK SLIDE HERE FOR WORDS OF INSTITUTION]

Therefore, Father-Mother God, of all the things that are yours, we offer you these, which are yours especially. We offer them gladly, as Jesus told us, giving thanks for his death and resurrection. And having seen the glory of the Chosen One, coming from God the Holy One, full of unending love, we praise you and we bless you.

All:  We praise you, we bless you, we give thanks to you, and we pray to you, our God.  Te adoramos, te bendecimos, te damos gracias y oramos a ti, nuestro Dios.

Todos/as: We praise you, we bless you, we give thanks to you, and we pray to you, our God.  Te doramos, te bendecimos, te damos gracias y oramos a ti, nuestro Dios.

Now, as Jesus promised, send us your loving Spirit, to make this bread and this cup the life-giving body and blood of your Chosen One, and to make us perfectly one, as you and Christ are one. For now the darkness of this world is overthrown; and together with angels and archangels, and all the company of heaven, we sing the triumphal song—

Todos/as:
//Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.//
God of power, God of might.
Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.

//Santo, santo, santo es nuestro Dios.//
Dios de gloria y poder.
Santo, santo, santo es nuestro Dios.

Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread;
forgive us our sins,
as we forgive those who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,

now and forever.
Amen.
Todos/as:

Cuando el pobre + When the poor ones

When at last all those who suffer find their comfort,
when they hope though even hope seems hopelessness,
when we love though hate at times seems all around us,
then we know that God still goes that road with us,
then we know that God still goes that road with us.

Cuando crece la alegría y nos inunda,
cuando dicen nuestros labios la verdad,
cuando amamos el sentir de los sencillos,
va Dios mismo en nuestro mismo caminar,
va Dios mismo en nuestro mismo caminar.

When our homes are filled with goodness in abundance,
when we learn how to make peace instead of war,
when each stranger that we meet is called a neighbor,
then we know that God still goes that road with us,
then we know that God still goes that road with us.

Song
1.  God, we thank you for our people, roots dug deep within the soil,
Hardy spirits, rich in loving, strong for struggle, bold for toil.
Faithful Rock of generations, you whom parents’ parents praised:
Here in hope as we remember may our song to you be raised.

2.  Thank you, God, for gentle pleasure:  lessons learned and secrets told,
Hopes and memories saved as treasure, passed to young ones by the old,
Pranks and glories, songs and stories, food by loving hands prepared.
God, we bless you for your presence in our tears and laughter shared.

3.  Still we must confess before you, sometimes, Savior, we have failed;
Though we worship and adore you, sometimes love has not prevailed.
Tempers racing, devil chasing, hearts estranged by ice or flame
You transform by ways forgiving.  Grace amazing!  Grace, your name!

4.  By your Spirit of creation keep us bold for risking still,
Eager in anticipation, ever strong to do your will.
Bind us close to one another, sharing life and death and birth,
Welcoming as sister, brother, all your children on the earth.

Call to Worship
One: God of the blue sky above us
and the blue waters that sustains us;
All: God of the rich brown earth
and the deep hued rock;
One: God of the peoples of Africa, Asia, Australia,
Europe and the Americas,
All: We are all made in your image, of every color.
One: We praise you, O God!

Song
When I needed a neighbor were you there, were you there?
When I needed a neighbor were you there?
And the creed and the color and the name won't matter, Were you there?

I was hungry and thirsty, were you there, were you there?
I was hungry and thirsty, were you there?
And the creed and the color and the name won't matter, Were you there?

I was cold, I was naked, were you there, were you there?
I was cold, I was naked, were you there?
And the creed and the color and the name won't matter, Were you there?

When I needed a shelter were you there, were you there?
When I needed a shelter were you there?
And the creed and the color and the name won't matter, Were you there?

When I needed a healer were you there, were you there?
When I needed a healer were you there?
And the creed and the color and the name won't matter, Were you there?

Wherever you travel I'll be there, I'll be there,
Wherever you travel I'll be there.
And the creed and the color and the name won't matter, I’ll be there.

Prayer of Confession

I confess, O God,
that our world is not yet
the world you have called us to create.
There is anger and hardness
among us.
For my part, O God,
I ask your forgiveness . . .
For the times I have declared that I have no prejudice
yet harbored it still in my heart,
forgive me, O God.
For the times I have declared
that I did not feel the pain prejudice
yet felt it still in my heart,
forgive me, O God.
I want to follow you, Jesus,
and live in a world that honors
your commandment
to love one another as we love ourselves.
Strengthen me to live this commandment
today and always.

Song of Praise
//I ‘ve got a crown up in-a the Kingdom
Ain’t-a that good news.//
I’m going to lay down this world
Going to shoulder up my cross
Goin’ to take it home to Jesus

//I ‘ve got a harp up in-a the Kingdom
Ain’t-a that good news.//
I’m going to lay down this world
Going to shoulder up my cross
Goin’ to take it home to Jesus
Ain’t that good news

//I ‘ve  got a robe up in-a the Kingdom
Ain’t-a that good news.//
I’m going to lay down this world
Going to shoulder up my cross
Goin’ to take it home to Jesus
Ain’t that good news

Prayer of the Day
NOT ON PPT

God of love, the word and way of your true Son has revealed all that is required of us, and supplied all that is deficient in us. Trusting in his saving grace, and relying on the guidance of your Holy Spirit, may we love our neighbours wherever we encounter suffering and neglect. For the healing of humanity and the glory of your name. Through Christ Jesus our Redeemer.
Amen!

Alleluia

Gospel Reading
Luke 10:25-37

NOT ON PPT

Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law? What do you read there? ”He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And he said to him, “You have given the right answer; do this, and you will live.” But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell into the hands of robbers, who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a priest was going down that road; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan while traveling came near him; and when he saw him, he was moved with pity. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. Then he put him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him; and when I come back, I will repay you whatever more you spend.’ Which of these three, do you think, was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers?” He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

[logo]

Let us build the city of God.
May our tears be turned into dancing!
Jesus Christ, our light and our love,
has turned the night into day!

Awake from your slumber!
Arise from your sleep!
A new day is dawning
for all those who weep.
The people in darkness
have seen a great light.
The Lord of our longing
has conquered the night.

Let us build the city of God.
May our tears be turned into dancing!
Jesus Christ, our light and our love,
has turned the night into day!

We are daughters of morning;
we are sons of the day.
The one who has loved us
has brightened our way.
The God of all kindness
has called us to be
a light for the people
to set their hearts free.

Let us build the city of God.
May our tears be turned into dancing!
Jesus Christ, our light and our love,
has turned the night into day!

O comfort my people;
make gentle your words.
Proclaim to my city
the day of her birth.
O city of gladness,
now lift up your voice!
Proclaim the good tidings,
that all may rejoice!

Let us build the city of God.
May our tears be turned into dancing!
Jesus Christ, our light and our love,
has turned the night into day!

Jesu, Jesu,
fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.

1.  Kneels at the feet of His friends,
silently washes their feet,
master who acts as a slave to them.

Jesu, Jesu,
fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.

2.  Neighbors are rich and poor,
varied in color and race,
neighbors are hear and far away.

Jesu, Jesu,
fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.

3.  These are the ones we should serve,
these are the ones we should love.
All are neighbors to us and You.

Jesu, Jesu,
fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.

4.  Loving puts us on our knees,
serving as though we are slaves,
this is the way we should live with You.

Jesu, Jesu,
fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.

5.  Kneels at the feet of our friends,
silently washing their feet,
this is the way we should live with You.

Jesu, Jesu,
fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have from You.
