Seasonal Songs

Certain songs, hymns and/or liturgical music are repeated throughout certain seasons (Advent, Lent, sometimes Easter season) and monthly in Ordinary Time.  This is a strategy we use in an attempt mainly to address the following issues:

— highly fluid Sunday attendance patterns;
—the large number of songs on any given Sunday (as many as 15);
—very limited rehearsal time for the music leadership teams;
—reinforcement of particular seasonal worship themes.

Often one, or occasionally two, of the songs are new, so the repetition also serves the purpose of teaching the songs more thoroughly than a one time exposure.
