 WELCOME & SCRIPTURAL FRAME

Luke 22:14-20
When the hour came, he took his place at the table, and the apostles with him. He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I tell you, I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

SONG
God bless to us our bread + Bendice, O Dios, nuestro pan
God bless to us our bread,
and give bread to all those who are hungry,
and hunger for justice to those who are fed;
God bless to us our bread.

Bendice, O Dios, nuestro pan,
y hambre de justicia a los que tienen;
bendice, O Dios, nuestro pan.

BLESSING

DINNER

SONG
This is my commandment + Es mi mandamiento
This is my commandment, that you love one another,
love one another, love one another.
This is my commandment that you love one another.
This is the will of God.

SCRIPTURE (from John 13)

Entonces llegó a Simón Pedro.

Jesus answered, "You do not know now what I am doing, but later you will understand." Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no share with me." Simon Peter said to him, "Rabbi, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!" Jesus said to him, "One who has bathed does not need to wash, except for the feet, but is entirely clean. And you are clean, though not all of you."
For he knew who was to betray him; for this reason he said, "Not all of you are clean."

Now before the festival of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart from this world and go to God. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. The devil had already put it into the heart of Judas son of Simon Iscariot to betray him. And during supper Jesus, knowing that God had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God, got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was tied around him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Jesus, are you going to wash my feet?”

After he had washed their feet, had put on his robe, and had returned to the table, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher—and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I, your Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you. Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them. If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them.

FOOTWASHING

SONGS
         Dios es amor

         Jesu, Jesu
Jesús, Jesús, enseñame tú
a amar y a servir
A toda tu creación.
Te arrodillaste a los pies de tus amigos, Jesús;
se los lavaste en señal de amor.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have in you.
Kneels at the feet of his friends,
silently washes their feet,
Master who acts as a slave to them.

Jesús, Jesús, enseñame tú
a amar y a servir
A toda tu creación.
Pobres y ricos serán,
de toda raza y color
De todo pueblo y nación tambien.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have in you.
These are the ones we should serve,
these are the ones we should love.
All these are neighbors to us and You.

Jesús, Jesús, enseñame tú
a amar y a servir
A toda tu creación.
Nuestra rodilla doblar
y así sus pies lavar,
Es el mandato que Dios nos da.

Jesu, Jesu, fill us with your love,
show us how to serve
the neighbors we have in you.

         Ubi caritas
Ubi caritas et amor,
ubi caritas, Deus ibi est.

INVITATION TO THE TABLE

COMMUNION PRAYER
Mark 14:22-24
While they were eating, he took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.”

Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, and all of them drank from it. He said to them, “This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many.

COMMUNION AT TABLES

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

SONG
         Wondrous love (Ed et al.)
What wondrous love is this, o my soul, o my soul!
What wondrous love is this, o my soul!
What wondrous love is this! that Christ should come in bliss
to bear the heavy cross for my soul, for my soul,
to bear the heavy cross for my soul.

A Dios y al Cordero, cantaré, cantaré;
A Dios y al Cordero, voy a cantar;
A Dios y al Cordero,
Quién es el gran “Yo Soy”,
junto con los millones, cantaré, cantaré,
con los millones, voy a cantar.

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on!
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,
and through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
and through eternity I’ll sing on.
